Opening Series 2026, Day 2: From Ideas to Action Plans

Day 2 of the Spin Up 2026 Opening Series took place on 14 March at *SCAPE. With their project ideas taking shape, Fellows spent the day learning how to turn them into concrete plans.

Workshop III: Event Proposal, Funding and Budgeting

Fellows learnt the 5W1H of proposal writing: how events differ from longer-term initiatives, how to ideate an event, and how to structure its programme and segments. Teams then put this into practice by planning the first three events in their project pipeline and drafting a basic event proposal. The workshop also covered how to pitch funding proposals to organisations, how to build financial, auditing and logistics sheets, and best practices for procuring logistics.

External Workshop by C-Academy

After lunch, Fellows joined a hands-on workshop by C-Academy, working through ideas with post-it notes and bulletin boards in an interactive session.

Mentor-Mentee Meetings

Teams then sat down with their mentors in structured meetings to review their progress, work through questions on their proposals, and map out next steps.

Workshop IV: Publicity and Resource Management

To close the programme, Fellows picked up practical skills for running their projects day to day: setting up and growing social media accounts, using common design platforms, and keeping their team’s Google Drives and admin spreadsheets organised.

Between workshops, a Challenge Circuit of team games across *SCAPE kept energy high. Fellows left Day 2 with their first event plans in hand and the tools to start executing.
